Omg. Oommmgggg. Words!! Words. Cannot even express how amazing youmacon was. Sure, there were a few mishaps with the hotel staff, and the calendar was unprofessional and just an embarrassment, and youmacon was spelled wrong on all the masquerade trophies…but I spent this whole con with some of the most amazing people ever so the good pretty much overpowers the bad.

First things first: got to the con with my friend Melissa at around 6 on Friday, saw and who all looked super gorgeous!! Nina was a dear and helped me get all my stuff up to the room, where we met up with the rest of the roomies and . While getting suited up for yoko, I realized that I left my gloves at home, and had to use my sleeve for Knives with courtney’s lightning gloves and they were super ghetto…but my friend tricia brought them up to the con on Saturday so it’s all good!

Saturday. Oommmggg. We had literally all stayed up until who knows when in the morning on Friday just talking about NOTHING. But then half our room had to get up at 6:30 and get ready for their princess tutu group for a photoshoot with at 10. I tagged along and was their lighting girl, which seems to be a tradition starting with acen. And I haven’t even watched the series yet but I’m reallyreallyreally excited to see photos because all of them were just gorgeous and amazing ;___;

We kinda bummed around for a bit, ate food, had shenanigans… the PT group got some quick shots with ackson, and I got one in yoko, then later in haruhi (which was amazing. Seriously. Just the little preview of the video on that tiny camera screen looked fantastic. Sometimes I wish I were less of a derp). Then the PT group ran off to the green room to get ready for their walk-on, and I chilled out with and was a test subject for her new camera (thanks so much again, dear! You’re amazing!)

Afterwards, I realized that I had the PT group’s room key and all their phones, because I took nina’s con bag back up to the room for them, so I had to find them in the green room again xD but that was after meeting up with tricia (who made an absolutely amazing first cosplay as lightning) and changing into haruhi. Not necessarily in that order. I didn’t register so I couldn’t watch the masquerade, but after bumming around for a bit, me and tricia ran into baron karza from coscom, and he did a mini shoot for us, which was also amazing!! i fangirled over him a little bit, not gonna lie, because I’m a lurker and creep on all of the good coscom photogs….hehehe. But seriously, I couldn’t believe I just ran into him, and we got some absolutely gorgeous shots with fantastic lighting. The rencen has these circular walkways with awesome floor lighting, and every photog ever abused them because they were so awesome. Also ran into Amanda/elemental again and got a couple quick shots before meeting up with courtney and nina. Shenanigans ensued and we all went upstairs to consume large amounts of mini cupcakes. Mmmmmm.

Sunday was my comfy day. Ommggoosh I was so comfy. Got up and pulled on my knives cosplay, and got a quick shoot with Courtney as Ramona. Got some deathcom photos too with as scott while nina, abby, and nicole were food-ing. We finally got around to leaving at around 4:30 when my dad came to get us, and we dropped abby and nicole off at the airport before heading home. We somehow fit 5 people and a rifle in my car. i felt pretty skilled.

So me and nina bashed the calendar on the way home (mostly because of the way it was designed---it was just not very professional or well thought out at all, and one photo was even credited wrong) and we wasted three hours waiting for a bellhop…I mean, they told us 45 mins. The time wasn’t really the issue, like if they told us three hours, it’d be okay, but that’s not what they told us. So we could’ve been out doing photoshoots and stuff but we were up in our room waiting. Luckily, we called down and they didn’t charge us extra for the late checkout. And then we did superfastphotoshoot outside by the fountains for nina and abby as ty lee and katara. But other than those mishaps, it was a great con! Security was amazing, I seriously did not meet a single unhelpful security member all con which in itself is an amazing feat. Anyway, I wish I could post con photos but I’m a lame butt and didn’t take aannnyyy. Anyway, much love for my cosfam—they seriously MADE this convention for me. I feel so so sooosososo lucky to know all of them <3
